Here is a selection of small works on paper, all roughly 19x29cm, gouache and oil pastel on paper. I started this series in August 2025 after rediscovering a love of gouache paint and simultaneously finding a 20 year old box of twelve oil pastels. The textures I was able to create by drawing first with the pastels and then painting over the top with watery gouache was very exciting to me. Over the past three months I’ve been playing with this combination and allowing each piece to appear spontaneously. Some are more abstract than others but I think they share a distinct visual language.
